Antique Majolica Hanging Basket Planter | Floral Jardinière

A spectacular antique majolica hanging basket planter with the color, dimension and exuberance that make antique majolica so collectible.

The exterior is modeled in deep relief with layered green and ochre foliage, raised pink floral blossoms and scrolling vines against a vibrant turquoise ground. A warm peach-toned scalloped border finishes the piece, while the molded center creates a beautiful architectural form when the planter is suspended.

Three original suspension openings around the rim allow the planter to be displayed hanging. Style it with trailing ivy, fern or another cascading plant, or display it empty as a sculptural decorative object.

Very good antique condition with age-related crazing, glaze variation, surface marks and wear around the suspension openings consistent with age and use. These characteristics are part of the character of antique glazed earthenware. Please review all photographs closely for condition.
